Program Description
EastBay FC Recreational League is a recreational fall season for kids ages 3–6. The easiest, lowest-pressure way for a young player to experience real soccer. Every week combines a Thursday training session focused on the fundamentals (dribbling, passing, first touch) with a Sunday game day where kids put it into practice on a real field, in front of family and friends.
This is soccer the way it should be at this age: no tryouts, no experience required, and no long-term commitment, just eight weeks of skill-building, teamwork, and game-day excitement, coached by EastBay FC's own staff at Mt. Diablo High School.
What's included:
-
8 Thursday training sessions
-
8 Sunday game days
-
A team jersey
-
Coaching from EastBay FC's staff
-
A full season of games at a real high school field
Why Join?
-
Real games, right away. Most rec programs at this age are training-only — our league gets kids into real, organized games from week one.
-
No experience necessary. Whether it's their first time on a field or their second season, every kid starts on equal footing.
-
One price, the whole season. $220 covers everything — training, games, and a jersey — with nothing else to buy or sign up for.
-
Backed by a real club. EastBay FC coaches bring the same credentialed coaching to our Rec League that they bring to the club's competitive teams.
-
A perfect fit for busy fall schedules. One weeknight and one weekend day — enough to build real habits without taking over the week.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as Little Ballers?
No — they're two different programs, even though both now serve ages 3–6. Little Ballers is ongoing skills training with no games. Our Recreational League is a fixed 8-week fall season built around Thursday training and Sunday games. See the comparison table in Section 4 to decide which fits your family.
Does my child need any soccer experience?
None at all. Our League is designed for first-time players and returning players alike — coaches group kids by age and ability so everyone is challenged at the right level.
What should my child bring?
Shin guards, athletic shoes or cleats, a water bottle, and comfortable clothes to move in. A jersey is included with registration.
What happens with the Thanksgiving break?
There is no training or game on the week of Thanksgiving. All other Thursday trainings and Sunday games run as scheduled through December 13.
What happens if it rains?
If weather permits the session to be indoors, we will have access to the Riverview Middle School gymnasium.
I'm already enrolled in Little Ballers — do I need to register separately for the League?
No. Little Ballers pauses for the fall season, and your child moves into Rec League automatically. Your existing $110/month subscription covers it — two months of payments equals the $220 season fee exactly, so there's nothing extra to pay and nothing separate to sign up for.
When does Little Ballers start back up?
Little Ballers resumes its normal ongoing training schedule once the Rec League season ends on December 13.
What if I'm new to EastBay FC and just want to join Rec League?
Register directly for the season — no prior Little Ballers enrollment required. $220 covers trainings, games, and a jersey for the full 8-week season, and your child will be playing alongside the current Little Ballers group.
